Osborne Dsouza
Holding a very rich corporate experience as an entrepreneur and a technologist, Mr. Osborne DSouza firmly believes that Human Evolution is largely dependent on the evolution of education. To play his part in this transformation, he co-founded Juana Technologies Inc. in 2013 - an Organization with its operations in Delhi and Goa, driving 21st Century Learning Skills & Technology Solutions in Education. An expert in ‘Unified communication and collaboration’, Osborne is a technologist who was influential in creating and developing SMART Classrooms for the Distance Learning Department at the University of Kuwait. He has also worked with other universities like American University, Australian University and Arab Open University for developing their SMART Classrooms and Distance learning suites. Mr. DSouza was part of the engineering & exploration team with KUFPEC (Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company) in the Oil and Gas Industry, with a 4 year experience on SUN Microsystems and Schlumberger (Middle East). While at KUFPEC he was a part of the team that was responsible for OPEC Forecasts and regulations on oil prices worldwide. Thereafter, he co-founded his his own technological venture called ‘G7’ in 1999, Kuwait. The company offered SMART Classrooms, Rich Media Solutions, Unified Collaborative Communication (UCC) and A/V Solutions.
The entrepreneurial side in him was driven to give back to the society and hence he set up his own corporate organization called ‘Creative Technologies India’ in 2008 at Goa which provided Interactive Collaborative Solutions. Further, he went on to work as a ‘Business Segment Regional Director for India & South Asia’ with SMART Technologies Inc (Canada) for 4 years before he co-founded his dream venture – Juana Technologies where he continues to be engaged till today.
Inspired by the likes of Sir Ken Robinson (the New York Times best-selling author of “The Element”), Satya Nadella (CEO, Microsoft) and Anant Agarwal (CEO, edX), Osborne advocates ‘inclusive education’ through experiential learning concepts and models. Besides, he believes that education should welcome the ingenuity and creativity of students and education should move away from rote or didactic teaching methods. Therefore, Juana Technologies always works towards providing ‘experiential learning’, where students are encouraged to bring about their creative side. Moreover, Osborne believes in incorporating new age skills to the students and educators alike. Juana Technologies is relentlessly working to improve the quality of educators in terms of technology and developing them to adopt new age skills so that they take up careers that are not even invented yet! In line with Osborne’s beliefs, the firm is working towards bringing fundamental and behavioural changes in the education methodologies and all the stakeholders including educators and students.
Osborne has a dream to ‘create a world university’ – a university that extends beyond all kind of barriers and is open for everyone, a university that can teach millions of people at once! Gradually, Juana Technologies is breaking the geographical barriers and making education available for students, irrespective of their geographic distance, race, ethnicity, colour or creed. With Juana Technologies, Osborne is taking one step at a time towards fulfilling his lifelong dream, which essentially revolves around fulfilling dreams of millions of young adults and children, and empowering every human on this planet to be a creative contributor or entrepreneur.
